Fitting Instructions
Fitting Fence Guard security strips could not be easier or safer. Use the easy-to-follow instructions below.
Screwing / nailing
Each security strip comes with twelve pre-drilled holes, four on each row of spikes.
If you are fixing to a wooden surface such as a fence top, we recommend using 3.5 x 16mm screws. These are available to buy here.
If your fence has a weather bar with an apex then simply screw the centre row down first then the two outside rows.
Trimming
This is easily done using the pre-moulded grooves as a guide.
If cutting along the length of a strip then turn it face down and cut along the groove with a sharp Stanley knife. Available to buy here.
If you are cutting across the width of a strip then we recommend using side cutters, heavy duty scissors or a suitable saw.
Bending
Fence guard security strips can be easily bent using the pre-moulded grooves. However, for those awkward angles you can immerse the strips in hot water to temporarily soften the plastic.
Gluing
If screwing or nailing is not an option then we recommend first, roughening the base to provide a key, and then using an external quality butyl/solvent-based sealant/adhesive.

Fence Guard security strips can be split into thirds allowing you to fix to smaller areas.
